I used diffferent FX units throughout the time I've been playing guitar. Digitech tend to have horrible modeling and sounds very fizzy in my opinions so I gave up on them a long time ago. Roland, Line 6 and TC Electronics tend to be very expensive for what you get.

I had a Zoom which is owned by Roland as well as Boss and I thought it was the best bang for your buck, but I think they discontinued it because it's not wise for a company to compete against itself with a low priced product that sound just as good if not better than some Boss units. Vox no longer makes the Tone Lab line so another good one gone. I won't deal with Behriunger anymore, their effects aren't that great and the customer support is horrible. I used to own a Boss ME-25 which if I wasn't getting ready to be kicked out of my old place I'd still have, but I had to sell it with other gear so I didn't end up homeless.

The Boss ME-25 was a great little unit, but it lacked a few things that I'd use now. Then I checked out the Boss ME-80 and it had the things the ME-25 didn't have plus a few extras that I just love and enjoy. I use this unit for practise at night so I don't get the cops called on me for being too loud and it's great for that. Considering I'm not a cover musician and I know what sound I want this is perfect for my FX loop on my Peavey 5150 and my BlackStar HT-40.
