Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 Software Update
Posted : adminOn 5/19/2018Hi, I'm new on this forum. I've been the happy owner of a Soundlick Mini II for several months now, and I've just tried to update the firmware - with the same problem as you all: I lose the USB connection between 8 and 11% of the updating process. Using Firefox doesn't work at all, so I opened the updating page on Internet Explorer. I'm on Windows 7 64bits and I've tried with the speaker on and plugged directly (no cradle) in either USB 2 or 3, both failed.

Bose Soundlink Mini II Hi, I come from France and a lot of people have some problemes whit the bluetooth connection. When I connect the Bose Bluetooth speaker On (PC or Mac), two devices appear.
- Bluetooth Hands-free Audio (mono sound) - Bluetooth Audio Rendering (stereo audio). On the 'hands-free' Audio, everything works fine, but the sound quality is of course quality 'mono' When I sound reproduction application on the 'Render Stereo Bluetooth Audio' is when the problems begin. The sound begins to jerk (like a cache problem). Define the first material by default (Mono) and redefine the second (stereo) can solve the problem of jerks. One more thing, when I ask to make a 'test' on both devices, the channel mono works perfectly. But the test on the stereo channel work rarely.
One solution I've also found is to turn off and on again the bose sound make it wok perfectly. But recently, it does not work very well. When I watch a movie and everything works fine, just let me bring pause the movie for 10 seconds and play it back, the sound gets back to jerk and shift strongly from the video. (as a problem of memory cache (again?)) When I set the output channel 'Stereo', Windows show me that sound got out by this device but nothing come out from the bose.(First Picture) The same work perfectly from the Mono device. My Bose is always on firmware 1.1.0 cause I read that the last firmeware make a lot of trouble on bluetooth.
What is your advices for everything to work correctly. Here is my experience updating the firmware on the mini, in case it helps anyone: The updater worked for me the 1st time. I followed a modified sequence of steps provided by Rico28 above. My steps were: 1. Using Google Chrome, went to and selected the SoundLink Mini II.
The installer appears in the browser, i.e. There is no separate file to download and run. With the speaker fully charged, powered off and not on the charging cradle, I connected it to my computer's USB 3 port when asked by the updater.
The speaker beeps and power light turns on (green). I selected English and hit Apply Changes. The install process started and took several minutes, with various beeps and lights going on and off during the process. When it reached about 95% i got a pop-up message saying there was an error and to call support, BUT. When I dismissed the error message, the updater said that the installation had completed successfully and it was now at Version 1.1.4.3558. I have subsequently used the speaker without any problem. When the installer completes, it says to bookmark the page for subsequent updates.
